Tulip
Single glorious tulip growing near railway tracks. I was drawn to the intense colour of it's interior.

Snowdrops in January
I love snowdrops ... here in Vancouver, the days tend toward dark and rainy (and rarely snowy), and it's infinitely refreshing to see these pure white beauties appear. It means spring has arrived, and the crocuses and daffodils are not far behind. And I love finding them like this, dripping from the heavy mist of spring.
These are tiny fairy lanterns emerging from winter's gloom.
Photographed January 31, 2010.

Catkins
One of the earliest floral harbingers of spring - yellow catkins blowing in the breeze.
Photographed in late January 2010, in Vancouver.
